KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival is an annual lgbtq+QIA+ film festival that takes place in Mumbai, India. Established in 2010, it is the largest and oldest lgbtq+QIA+ film festival in South Asia. The festival is organized by Solaris Pictures and supported by several Indian and international organizations. It is also the first Indian lgbtq+QIA+ film festival to be held with the approval of the Information & Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India.
The festival's mission is to showcase and support films that explore the diverse lives, culture, and experiences of lgbtq+QIA+ individuals from around the world. It aims to create a safe and inclusive space for the lgbtq+QIA+ community, allies, and cinema enthusiasts to come together, engage in dialogue, and celebrate the power of queer cinema. KASHISH also strives to promote understanding and acceptance of lgbtq+QIA+ rights and issues among the wider public.
